You have some control over your environment. Make it a place that points you towards God. Make your Bible easy to get to. Put on worship music. Whatever you can do to encourage your soul to lift its eyes to heaven.
"i am not a person that asks ‘how are you?’ wishing to hear the nice, pretty answer that probably isn’t the truth anyway. i am a person that sincerely cares about you. about your day, be it good or not so good. about your heart in whatever state it may currently be in. i care about you and the truth of where you’re at. so, how are you today love? tell me all there is to hear."
"Don’t you stop. Don’t you dare give up. Not even for a moment. Even through the worst of times you can feel Him. Do not stop yourself. Help is always there. Comfort is always there. Christ is always there. Not ever will He leave. Not once. Not even for a second. Turn to Him. Trust. Listen. Keep going always. And receive the best ever created for you. You can do this. And it will be greater than you ever could have imagined for yourself. And you will look back and be blown away and left speechless with the direction your life has gone in."
Anonymous asked: what are your views on swearing?
I’m careful in my approach here because I think this is an easy topic to judge people on. We all have opinions. Keep that in mind. :)
I think, in general, swearing can reflect your heart in how you use it. I don’t think it’s okay to swear at people or in anger. Also, it’s just unattractive when people make it their every day, every other word, language. I struggled with swearing in anger for a few years. That was a big problem. Those swearing instances were a heart issue and I know were wrong.
Do I ever swear? Yeah. If I use a word classified as “swearing,” it’s usually around people that know my heart really well. Sometimes “crap” just doesn’t say enough. Most of the time we’re just joking around.
At the end of the day, I know I represent Jesus and if my talk doesn’t back up my testimony, I’ve missed an important part of being a Christ follower. People watch those things and I try to be mindful, but not legalistic in a “I just don’t swear so I don’t get in trouble” kind of way. I don’t think a Christian that uses a word here and there loves Jesus any less.
